Ac Ace in the Workshop

We have a very rare car in the workshop this week. In for general servicing, some engine setup work and an mot we have possibly the very last AC Ace. The rest of the workshop seems filled with Race cars and MGB’s undergoing full restoration. The Mcr team have a busy weekend ahead at the race track, with a car at Castle Coombe on Saturday and then a log trip down to Snetterton for the 4 hour relay race on Sunday. MGB’s Oulton Park

The MCR team were once again at Oulton park, this time with Paul and Gary and their two FIA Historic Spec MGB’s. The Cars were entered in both the swinging 60’s 40 minute race and the 1 hour classic K race. This  meant a total of 2 hours and 40 minutes track time for each of the cars and 4 track sessions.   Both of the races involve a pit stop with the driver having to get out and back in again. Spa 2014

Its that time of year again when all our thoughts head in the Direction of Belgium. Its The weekend of the Spa 6 hour Classic and Dominic From MCR has once again entered his Sebring Sprite in Barry Siddery-Smiths 1 hour Support race. This is a fantastic opportunity to race on this great circuit surrounded by some fantastic machinery. Dom will be up against Cobras, Morgans, Aston Martins the odd GT40 and other historic race cars. Le Mans Citroen – 1932 C4

In 2012 The MCR Team took a group of novice racers to the Le Mans classic in their 1932 Le Mans Citroen C4. This car was Built for the previous owner to enter the race in 2010, and was extensively rebuilt for the 2012 event.   The Car ran well for the first two races but a snapped oil pump drive in the (non MCR built) engine in the last race lead to a non finish in the last race. Our New Van

As much as we love running around in our supercharged MG ZT260, we have to admit its not great for carrying engines and gearboxes around in. So after a lot of head scratching for a suitable vehicle we ended up with a new MINI Van. It makes taking parts for machining or visiting people to carry out vehicle inspections before purchase or restoration so much more economical.   Its even quite fun to drive.

MCR Built V8 takes to the Podium

At a very wet and changeable Silverstone earlier in May Graham Walden took class pole, a 2nd, a win and a fastest lap In his TVR Tuscan Challenge Car.   The engine had just had a full strip down and rebuild  with new crank, rods and pistons by Dominic at Midland Classic restorations.
